Five stars for the special "spice bag," which was a pretty large bag with fries, chicken thigh nuggets, peppers and onions, served with a terrific side of curry ($14). Those little chicken nugs were absolutely fantastic. Please put them on the menu on their own! And the curry was great! Next time I would order this, plus a side of rice, for a makeshift chicken katsu curry (OMG just put that on the menu, please!!). As for everything else fried, tbh, I don't love the sauces on everything. The chicken itself is great--and so is the fried cauliflower--but I would so prefer the sauces (which are all interesting and kind of funky) on the side. Will ask for it on the side next time, and then I'll be happy. Little gem salad was okay. The lettuces are super dense this time of year; would work better quartered instead of halved, allowing a little more opportunity for the dressing and toppings to do their thing.

I have eaten here twice in the span of 3 days. My brother recommended this and since my husband and I were in the area we decided to try it. The first time we went we ordered the salted egg half chicken, the chili chicken jr and the cucumber side. That salted egg was excellent! It was very rich and you could taste every artery being blocked but it was worth it! The sandwich was so good as well. The chili flavor wasn't as strong as I was expecting but it was really good! The cucmbers were a little bitter for my taste but overall it went well with the chicken flavor. The second time we went we got the half chicken in chili, the classic sando and the kale salad. Everything was a five star! The kale salad was so good (I dipped some of the chicken in the dressing) The sando was so good! I loved the soy pickles! If I'm in the area I will definitely be back!

Came on a hungry day and tried out their quarter chicken with salted egg. I like the light crisp to the chicken skin and it wasn't heavy. The salted egg also added umami and richness. The dirty rice complimented it well, but I do wish it had more to it. Eating along side with the chicken is really good, but by itself was plain.

Too much chili oil or something was off in the ratio last time I went. I have a pretty high spice tolerance and it wasn't really that it was too spicy it just left a weird taste in my mouth. It was almost unenjoyable not because of the flavor necessarily but the effect. It was like too much of a good thing and I couldn't appreciate the flavor anymore because it was overwhelming. I also didn't love the blackened chicken flavor wise. Would still go back but not quite as consistent as I'd hoped.

Been wanting to try this neighborhood spot for a while and finally came and ordered the corn bread, dirty rice, classic sando, and Tofu PoBoy. The sandwiches were great, but the sides were our favorite, both the cornbread and the rice were delicious! We will absolutely be back!

Came to this fast casual spot after seeing it all over tiktok and it did not disappoint. We got the classic sando, the salted egg quarter chicken, and the chili half chicken with chicken salt fries and dirty friend rice on the side. The classic sando was pretty big and I really enjoyed how the crunchy chicken paired with the soy sauce pickles. The sandwich was perfectly moist from the juicy chicken and the house sauce and definitely worth a try when you come. (7.5/10) The salted egg chicken was super unique. I enjoyed how the umami taste of the salted egg and would definitely recommend this to those looking to try something new. (8/10) As a spice lover, the chili half chicken was definitely my favorite. The chili sauce that it is coated in was divine and you can tell that the chili oil is made in house with a unique taste. Also the half chicken came with both dark and white meat and both pieces were equally as tender and juicy. (9/10) The chicken salt fries were addicting and the dirty fried rice was one of my favorite parts of this meal. (8.5/10) The staff was super friendly and helpful with the menu and the seating is limited. Would definitely come back on my next trip to NY!

Juicy in the inside, crunchy and crispy on the outside, this fried chicken was so good it had me thinking about it afterward. I got the salted egg sauce and the umami from the salted egg combined with the chicken was such a great combo. I highly recommend. The corn bread was also good but probably not worth the amount I paid for. Overall the food was good, the price was decent.

My sis-n-law and her now husband reserved this place for a wedding rehearsal dinner. This is one of their favorite places, and they fell in love here during the pandemic before it was a brick and mortar place. So they shared it with us all. The staff greeted us right away and shared a little about what makes this place and the food so special. We had a pre-planned menu that was so good! And so much food! The flavors on everything continued to amaze the table. I could rant about the chicken, but I'll just put a plug in for the cheddar cornbread! Get it!! One thing I loved was the self-serve water station had two spouts--one for still and one for sparkling. Brilliant and thoughtful. So glad we came here!

Glad I got to try this in NY and not as a pop up in SF where the waits would have been crazy. A casual Tuesday lunch for 3. We ordered Chili flavored half chicken - regular spicy I think? It was great, a little kick, nothing crazy and slightly sweet. I was worried about a "too numbing" flavor but that wasn't the case and it was pretty good. salted egg wings - YUM!!!! this flavor was so good on the wing, crispy, juicy, well flavored! we should have ordered another one haha. turnip with miso butter - oh you know, we thought it was healthy-ish to fight the heavy chicken lol but it was nice. pretty tasty actually, you do taste the...pine nuts? yummy too. very different as a side. overall it was yummy, I think it helps there's no line, no frills. definitely would get again!

Love their chili chicken meal - WOW! The thigh was so soft, crunchy, nicely seasoned + meaty. Super flavorful! The cheddar cornbread w/ apple honey was also divine - tasted like a cake. The chili chicken sando was also super delicious! The watermelon drink was ok. Tons of indoor seating. Staff was friendly.
